N°02 — The Story
A vehicle with provenance.
## Highlights and general information For sale is a Mercedes-Benz 290B convertible from 1936 with a two-tone paint finish in black and red and a black leather interior.
The Type 290 (W 18) was one of three new models with swing-axle chassis presented by Daimler-Benz at the International Automobile and Motorcycle Exhibition in Berlin in February 1933. This was a logical continuation of the modernization of the entire product range that had begun successfully with the Type 170. The design of the rear swing axle with its two coil springs on each side corresponded to that of the 200 presented at the same time, but differed in that a compensating spring was fitted behind the differential.
