N°02 — The Story
A vehicle with provenance.
## Highlights and general information For sale is a BMW 2000 CS from 1966 in the color white with a blue fabric interior.
In June 1965, BMW presented the "comfortable touring car with a sporty heart for long journeys", the BMW 2000 in the CS and CA (automatic) versions. The coupé of the "new class" undoubtedly bears the signature of its designer Wilhelm Hofmeister, recognizable by the legendary "Hofmeister kink" on the C-pillar. However, it was not until November 22, 1965 that the first coupés rolled off the production line at convertible and coupé specialist Karmann in Osnabrück. The basis was largely the saloon, but the engineers bored out the engine to 1,990 cc. The CS engine is powered by two Solex 40PHH flat-flow twin carburetors. With a compression ratio of 9.3:1, the power plant produced 120 hp. By 1970, 13,700 of these sport cannons had been built, most of them (9,999 units) were ordered as CS.
